1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CanDash, the Android application with package ID io.candash.app, handles information. The App is provided by Ivan Boldyrev (“we,” “us,” or “our”). It provides a supplementary instrument cluster for Tesla vehicles.

This policy covers the App, this website, and privacy-related communications with us.

2. Data on your phone

CanDash processes the vehicle information used for its instrument display locally on your phone. This information is used to provide the App’s dashboard functionality. It is not uploaded to our servers or sent by the App to third parties.

We do not collect personal information automatically through the App or maintain a server-side copy of your vehicle data. Information processed locally is not used by us for advertising or profiling.

Any App settings or other App data stored locally remain on your device. You can remove the App’s local data using Android’s app storage controls. Device backups, where enabled, are managed through your Android device and backup provider settings.

3. When you contact us

If you choose to email us, we receive your email address, the content of your message, and any attachments you send. We use that information to respond to your request and resolve the issue you raise. Please do not send passwords, access tokens, or vehicle information that is not needed for your request.

Correspondence is processed through the email providers involved in delivering and storing it. We keep it only for as long as needed to handle your request and meet applicable legal obligations or resolve disputes. You may contact us to request deletion.

4. This website & other services

This website does not use advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or application cookies. When you visit it, the hosting provider may process technical request information, such as your IP address, browser information, requested URL, and request time, to deliver pages, protect the service, and diagnose errors.

The website is hosted on Vercel. Its processing and retention practices are described in the Vercel Privacy Policy. Website request information is separate from the vehicle data processed locally by CanDash.

When you use Google Play, Android services, vehicle services, or follow an external link, those providers may process information under their own policies. See the Google Privacy Policy for Google services. This policy does not describe or control those providers’ independent practices.

5. Sharing & security

We do not sell personal information. The App does not transmit your locally processed vehicle information to us or third parties. Information you voluntarily send to support and technical website requests may be handled by the service providers described above. We may disclose information we hold if required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.

Local processing limits the transmission of vehicle information. Protect your phone with a screen lock, keep its software up to date, and only connect to equipment you trust. No device, email service, or internet connection can be guaranteed completely secure.

6. Your choices & rights

You can stop the App’s processing by closing it or disconnecting it from the vehicle. You can clear its local storage in Android settings or uninstall the App. We cannot remotely access or delete data held only on your phone; manage any device backups separately through your backup provider.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information we hold, or to object to or restrict its processing. To make a request about support correspondence or other information we hold, email us. We will respond in accordance with applicable law and may need to verify your identity. You may also contact your local data protection authority.

7. Children’s privacy

CanDash is a vehicle utility and is not designed specifically for children. The App’s local data handling described above applies to all users. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through support, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. The current version will always be available on this page with its update date. If we introduce a material change to data handling, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain consent where required before that processing begins.
